I don't think this movie is bad per se, but it wasn't anything special. Standard chick flick. Probably would be good for a date around Christmas, but I feel like I remember it being a really long movie.

The Big Blue (1988) - Rated 14 Aug 2007

I've only seen the movie once, when I was about 15 or so. I remember liking it overall, but the only thing I remember about the movie is the part where The Professional punches the windshield out of that tiny car. That was awesome.

Raw Iron: The Making of 'Pumping Iron' (2002) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

A cool behind the scenes look at the making of "Pumping Iron" that includes a reunion of the guys. It's pretty freaky to see an 80 year-old Mike Katz. Some good insights into the movie and golden era body-building. It's included in the 25th Anniversary DVD of "Pumping Iron."

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

It's funny --- IF YOU ARE A WILL FERRELL FAN. Entertaining regardless of your knowledge or like of NASCAR. It's even funnier if you're a native northerner living in the South. PROTIP: THIS IS NOT AN "ANCHORMAN" SEQUEL. I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU'D EXPECT THAT JUST BECAUSE OF THE DIRECTOR AND LEAD ACTOR. JESUS IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME A DIRECTOR AND ACTOR HAVE WORKED TOGETHER TO MAKE UNRELATED MOVIES.

I remember going to see this movie on a whim, and it turned out to be pretty good. It's nothing special, but I liked it.

Lady in the Water (2006) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

Definitely mis-marketed. There should have been much more emphasis placed on the fantasy aspect of this movie and that it is a children's tale. The advertising I've seen has tried to sell it as a creepy suspense film. Go into it expecting a fairy tale/kids movie, and you'll enjoy it much more. The overt digs at Hollywood/critics and overt self-praise are pretty amusing, too.

Almost Heroes (1998) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

I really enjoy this movie because of my affinity for Chris Farley. The plot is pretty flimsy, but it's good enough to set up different gags. At least check this movie out for the sequence that involves Farley trying to get the egg of a bald eagle.

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

Definitely a fun movie for kids/young teenagers. It gets pretty gay toward the end. Still recommended to those who haven't seen it and were born between 1976 and 1983. "The dishes are done, man."

Senior Trip (1995) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

Meh - this comedy didn't even appeal to me as a 14 year-old, and I'm pretty sure that was the target audience. But, hey, it's got Chong in it.

Angus (1995) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

Really and underrated movie because, hell, I don't think it's rated at all. I don't know of anyone outside of my circle of friends who has seen it. It's a pretty good movie with a pretty good soundtrack (from what I remember). It's got Dawson playing the role of an a-hole jock, so there's something for everyone.
