100 61% Aeon Flux (2005) - Rated 04 Mar 2013
"I was a huge fan of Peter Chung's original series before this film was released, and I still am now. I don't believe in "this ruined the original" syndrome. I thought the director and producers created a visually stunning, atmospheric and mature world for Aeon to roam. It wasn't appreciated by blockbuster audiences because it's too cerebral for a popcorn flick, and it wasn't appreciated by most Aeon Flux fans because it wasn't a shot for shot interpretation of the series. I love it regardless!"

"A try hard response to the original that relied more on CG animation than a plot."

100 61% Rock & Rule (1983) - Rated 04 Mar 2013
"This movie is everything an animated musical should be. Darker and more adult than any Disney film for sure, and that's what makes it special. It was part of the great boom of 70s and 80s adult animated movies stared by Ralph Bakshi. I'm glad it was given a nice new DVD/Blu-Ray release, now if we could only get an official soundtrack."
90 20% Dark Star (1974) - Rated 04 Mar 2013
"For its budget, this movie is captivating and surprisingly funny. Low budget badly made movies can often leave me cold even when they're trying to be funny, but this one pulls it off with ease. Dan O'Bannon and John Carpenter went on to do amazing things so it's no surprise this film was a success, even in cult terms."
100 61% Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) - Rated 04 Mar 2013
"Arguably the most campy of the Star Trek films, but that's why I love it. The film series needed a brea from its heaviness to take the characters (and audience) out of their comfort zone and plop them in the middle of present-day (80s) San Francisco. It's definitely a comedy, so don't watch it expecting cerebral sci-fi like there was in The Motion Picture."
100 61% Forbidden Zone (1980) - Rated 04 Mar 2013
"If you like absurd, dirty, twisted humor, check this movie out immediately. Not only is it bizarre but it's very clever and funny with great music provided by Danny Elfman."
