Buster

Zany 60's comedy ... they don't make 'em like this anymore. So many amazing stars, poking fun at themselves and the genre. The sexiest seduction scene ever, with perhaps the most beautiful woman to ever grace cinema screens .. Ursula Andress ! \"The Look of Love\" , an aquarium, slo-mo , a round rotating bed ....

Shampoo (1975) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

I loved every little thing about this film. Nasty, sexy, politically aware, funny, heartbreaking ... sort of like a Renoir for the 60's/70's . Beatty and Christie break my heart yet again. Every actor shines ... esp. Jack Warden, Lee Grant, even Goldie Hawn and Carrie Fisher ! Hal Ashby was a GOD !

Baby Boom (1987) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

Sappy, cookie cutter story amnd lame direction... but Diane Keaton transcends it all . My Best Actress of the Year! Fantastic physical comedy, especially in her "freak-out" scene in the snow out front of her house !

The train ride that Buster takes mid-film is AN ALL-TIME CLASSIC !! Just brilliant. A bit of the other stuff can drag , but really ... cinematic magic through and through !

The Awful Truth (1937) - Rated 13 Aug 2007

Sheer brilliance. Irene Dunne and Cary Grant at their absolute best. I do feel sorry for the black cat who appears to have its paw superglued ( staple-gunned? ) to the door at the end ?!? Pure Joy !!

I'll give almost ANY Buster Keaton 100 ... This one shows his love for cinema ( and inspired Woody's The Purple Rose of Cairo ! ) Buster Forever !!
