90 84% Dredd (2012) - Rated 26 Nov 2014
"Keeping it tight. Dredd is a simple, tightly edited and beautiful movie. It's either very mean or very funny, with a nice subtext and completely unlikable main characters. I love them. The plot is straightforward, the movie operates mostly by "show don't tell" basis, camera angles make the block a major character (it pays homage to Alien in camera movement!) and the action is beautiful. Not larger than life, but a very solid, entertaining movie with a good artistic vision"
60 18% The Wolfman (2010) - Rated 24 Nov 2014
"I remember bits and pieces. HDR. Stylized colours. Saturation. A fireplace. Two werewolves doing stuff. Because of something. Anachronistic period setups. It's been 6 months since I watched the movie. Sober. Not a "never forget" movie."
88 71% Cry-Baby (1990) - Rated 24 Nov 2014
"Wonderful little piece of tongue-in-cheek cinema, only made more exhilarating when realizing the director also directed choice films, such as Pink Flamingos. As such, this review and the points given have little or no bearing with objective reality and should be immediately discarded."
81 51% The Abyss (1989) - Rated 24 Nov 2014
85 60% Apocalypse Now (1979) - Rated 24 Nov 2014
"Skip this version and watch the original theatherical cut. This version has a pretty bad value. A great and wonderful movie, but Redux is way too long and meandering for it's own good."
75 35% Elysium (2013) - Rated 24 Nov 2014
"Hey, it's District 9^2! Slums! Combat suits! Capitalistic slavery! Income inequalities! Medical care! White people! Latino people! Human traffickers! Slums in slow-mo! Slums and futuristic weaponry! Grenades! Yay! The movie's plot falls flat once the heist part is kinda over and is waaaayyyy too reminiscent of D9 in places. It is gorgeous, has some nice touches (cherry trees on Elysium, solid "used future" looks") and Matt Damon is good, but the movie promises more than it delivers."
90 84% Solaris (1972) - Rated 23 Nov 2014
"A glorious meditative trip through loss and insanity. Filmography is wonderful, but some of the elements are more finely tuned in later Stalker. Recommended."
25 2% A View to a Kill (1985) - Rated 20 Nov 2014
"Absolutely abysmal Bond better left forgotten."
93 98% My Neighbor Totoro (1988) - Rated 20 Nov 2014
"Wonderwul, beautiful and romantically naive story about forest, trees, anxiety and childhood. All combined in a wonderful, loving package. A must see for both kids and those adults that find the everyday cynicism and oversaturation of detail just too much sometimes."
