Genuinely upsetting and very effective horror. Some of the best acting I've seen ever – Navarette is unbelievable. Have to deduct a point for needles cat cruelty, though.

The more I think about it the more I dislike this mess of a film

Decent flick. I feel like it's about as faithful to the book as you can make something that's five times condensed. Though, it's perhaps just a touch too Hollywoodised for my taste. The book is funny, but this is downright silly. It also feels a bit cliché to say that a film adaptation feels "rushed", cause there was no way it wasn't going to be, but this I really would have preferred to watch as a series I think, just to get a few more details from the book in there.
