"Sorry to say but I can't see the hype. There are a few scenes that are probably meant to be comical, but other than that it's 6 hours (first season) of waiting for something bad to happen, with a mediocre payoff in the end. Some characters have a little development, and a few times more complex backstory is hinted at, but we're generally expected to just accept that them as the caricatures they're portrayed as which makes it difficult to care for any of them."

"Difficult to write much about it without spoiling either this film or One Cut of the Dead, which it is a remake of. The filming location, lighting and post FX made it feel more like a traditional Western zombie movie, which is fitting, but I thought the dark scenes combined with the many fast camera sweeps removed the "one cut" feeling. The added scenes were good, the problem was more that they missed a lot of the good stuff. Watch One Cut of the Dead instead, and maybe come back for this later!"
