Some Big Lebowski, some Synechdoche NY, multi-layered movie about performance and facade and legacy. Credit to Tom Cruise for doing a movie like this because one of the things it plays with is his own actor life. He is doing “You want me on that wall you need me on that wall” from Jack Nicholson’s side. John Goodman and all the major players turn up, first two thirds I found very funny. Pointedly set in the near future. Theater experience important for some audio cues more than the visuals.

Minions get polymorphed. One of the minions has a baby chick minion (?) during (??) one of action scenes? The older guest actors’ voices are pretty bad. They’re not voice actors. Wouldn’t have watched it if my 6 year old nephew hadn’t put it on.

Please stop doing Bonded Pair Escapes The Human Weapon Lab it has been done to death for 40 years. Is this movie aimed at young adults? Kind of incredible (for a Spiderman movie) amount of cussing (most of it Punisher). 20 year moratorium on Jean Grey, that character has never been compelling. The MJ possession scene was ice cold, I loved it. Great action, the hell in a cell scene is pretty much stolen from Matrix Reloaded. Needed more Hulk vs Spidey.

Don’t see how anyone but white christians get much out of this. Makes the strange decision of taking a light murder mystery and slamming it into a brick wall with the phone call scene. Everybody gets their scene or two but it’s nobody’s best work.

We are seeing the limits of Rami Malek's gimmick. It worked in Mr Robot season 1 when his face was fresh and he was a unique actor. We can now see his limitations. If I see him do his little sucking in his cheeks move when he is doing "sad" one more time I am going to puke.

Had no idea this person existed but he appears to have spearheaded the idea that cetaceans have human caliber intelligence. And then spent the next 50 years frying his brain on acid. Solid documentary, plentiful archival footage.
