The Zone of Interest (2023) - Rated 03 Nov 2024
"The film is planned to every inch. Perfect frames that place walls and angles in the foreground suggest all the time the horror of what is behind. The director does not judge characters. Rather, he portrays them by focusing on their everyday life. And it is up to the viewer to answer, how they can sleep at night. What can be doubted is whether a film based on a single idea does not exhaust its formula too quickly and should rather be an etude than a feature-length film."

"I will not avoid comparisons to part one. In this comparison Furiosa comes off a class worse. Definitely less engaging, more logical plot holes. Horrible Thor performance. It was enjoyable to watch, but it's not a top top film."

"I love the serious part of the show. Characters have real depth. It's love-hate relationship. Story pacing is perfect. Good shooting. BUT I totally don't get the sitcom part of the show. Why for God's sake do we have parody style jokes like from 90s TV comedy? It ruined the first season. Luckily in the next seasons there was less and less of that poor parody. It could be Fargo, True Detective or Better Call Saul masterclass, but showrunners ruined with shitty jokes."

"The characterization, the music, the effects, the composition. Something wonderful. In the second part, the script speeds up a little unnecessarily, but it will still be one of my favourite films."

However, much of the movie leans heavily on slapstick comedy and attempts at humor through memes, which often miss the mark. While it has its moments, the film struggles to consistently deliver the smart, engaging content it occasionally hints at."
