Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) - Rated 03 Jul 2025
"Solo is a neutered pup: 1. Chewie has bigger ones than Solo that it's a wonder he respects Solo. 2. And how bout that moment, in the middle of the film, when his crush, Emilia's character, arrives with Paul: he should have looked at her, looked at Paul, back at her and said, "u-hu, so that's how it is? I'm a dumb@$$" (or anything to signal character growth). 3. Woody takes down the bad guy at the end, not Solo. False advertising of the title because he's not the star of his own film."
The Wire (2002) - Rated 01 Jul 2025
"Was never nominated for any awards. Then suddenly, around the time racial tensions picked back up in this country (circa 2015), many websites were placing this 2nd of the best tv series of all time. Why? Just watch one and a half episodes, and you'll be educated how whitey is solely responsible for the revolving-door of prison time for minorities. The Wire tries too hard to be Roots. At least I have white guilt watching that show."
Regarding Henry (1991) - Rated 02 Jul 2025
"I lost count how many cliches (just like the beginning of this sentence) were imbedded in the dialogue. Annette Bening's character was pointless. One of the laziest scripts ever written."
Reds (1981) - Rated 02 Jul 2025
"I don't care about these characters, no communism is not a neat idea, and no you're not that important. Most of the movie felt as though the writers were not trying to tell a story so much as they were trying to lecture the audience about its political leanings."
Hesher (2010) - Rated 03 Jul 2025
"Picked-on by despicable characters. Was this kid sent to Hell?"
Lord of War (2005) - Rated 01 Jul 2025
"With a sophomoric understanding of arms terminology, no understanding of Cold War boundaries, and an absurd sequence of events, I can't take this movie seriously. Yes, I'm sure it's "based on..." but remember: this is not a documentary. The only bright spot is the mention, at the end, of the top arms producing countries make up the UN Security Council. Basing a movie on that would be more compelling than this farce."
The Darjeeling Limited (2007) - Rated 03 Jul 2025
"I'm fresh out of being in the mood for "quirky". Quirky is the movie industry's new synonym (not new, it's been around for 25 years) for socialite, pretentious, and pretentious socialite, as a means of getting the audience to forgive their faults and just enjoy the show. I'm neither impressed, nor do I care. Yes, you're better than me, you win."
My Blueberry Nights (2007) - Rated 03 Jul 2025
"Direction is uneven, and the plot is even sillier. I gained nothing by watching."
