Terrifier 3 (2024) - Rated 06 May 2025
"If you look at this as a complete movie, this is just trash and there's no way around it. The story is stupid, the pacing is all over the place, the acting is not terrible but not good either. The movie clearly exists only as an excuse for shocking murder scenes, with a bit of weird world-building and convoluted fantasy elements sprinkled on top. I didn't like Terrifier 2 but I liked where the fantasy elements seemed to be going. But it didn't really work here. The murders were shocking enough."

"Apart from the cheesy ending, I quite liked this. Yes, it was a bit uneven, but mostly engaging enough. Competent acting all around, and the interpersonal relationships were handled interestingly enough that the plot that didn't quite hold up didn't bother me too much."

"I don't really get why people think this treads too carefully. I think the political implications are more obvious than they even need to be. Anyway, it's a film about the pointlessness of the civil war, and ends up feeling a bit pointless with that, which of course is the point. Apart from the ending, I don't think it falters too much, and it is often quite effective. But it's very hard to get near a 5-star rating for me, when it really has no direction where it's going."

"A mixed bag. I liked how unexpected the time travel inclusion was, the meta commentary, the humor and the overall vibe of the movie. The plot wasn't strong at any point, and towards the end it went so off the rails - especially the timetravel bit of it- that I didn't really even want to pay attention to it anymore. Some of the acting, including the lead, was good, but some I don't know if it was really bad or purposely weak for some reason. A fun movie to see if you can switch your brain off."

"Did it feel a bit gimmicky at times? Was it slightly uneven at certain spots? Yeah. But it was mostly brilliant, and especially considering the episodes were one-shots, some of the performances were just out of this world."

"So, I think this was a surprisingly entertaining 7/10 movie that could have even gotten up to 8/10 with an ending that didn't fall flat. Unfortunately the ending not so much fell flat as it did crash completely. I honestly can't even imagine what they were thinking with this, but it was bad enough that it managed to suck a lot of the fun out of what I just saw. I could rant about this a lot more but I won't waste more time on this."

"It's nothing special story-wise, but the setting makes this interesting - possibly even unique? That, together with the strong lead, does carry the film quite far even, but the ending is trash. I don't remember the first movie very well anymore, but I do remember having been majorly disappointed with the ending of that one as well. Nevertheless, I think the ending of this was maybe even worse."
