"Absolutely the biggest piece of garbage movie that pretends it's not an advertisement. Did a caricature of a corrupt corporate business executive write and direct this- laughing maniacally with cigar in hand? That would actually be comedy. This type of movie could only ever be made in America, and I felt a loss of patriotism after having watched."

"One of the most impactful movies I’ve ever watched. A true horror in its own right. It is often compared to Grave of the Fireflies, although what sets this apart is that it is the true story and first-hand account of the writer, leaving out no horrific details of his experience. It comes off as 80’s-anime-goofy in some scenes, yet the brutality of it all shines through. I think of this movie often and am reminded of how merciless and fleeting life can be."
