"From what little I knew of this film prior to watching, I thought it would be an Araki-esq surreal orgy coming of age film. It has some of that surrealism, but is fairly reserved. Surprisingly the surrealism didn't veer off into unrealistic depictions of relationships or self-discovery. It had just enough spice to ensconce it outside of typical "gay interest" film, and instead depicted a teenager dealing with an unstable home life as he graduates high school. I live for Buffy. Great soundtrack"

"Are people really so pretentious that they'll psych themselves up enough to enjoy this silly movie in some deep cinophile way, just because it's a Hitchcock? I always watch movies with an open mind, but the film really was as dumb as the plot description. Maybe it can be appreciated for what it was at the time. In my opinion this is 2019 and to me this looked like what a parody of a retro horror movie would be."
