61 16% Bloodsport (1988) - Rated 01 Feb 2015
"I don't know if I'm reviewing Kickboxer or Bloodsport. I've mashed both films together in my mind named Kicksport. Either way, its Van Damm kicking, punching, yelling in slow motion, and doing impossible splits. One of the lower-tiered action movies from the 80s but still enjoyable and one of JCVD's best movies. Or maybe I'm thinking of Kickboxer. Shrug."

"It takes a special kind of awful for me to not be able to make it through a movie. I couldn't make it past the basketball scene. Congratulations to all involved. This movie needs to be treasured."
92 83% Boyhood (2014) - Rated 01 Feb 2015
"Brilliantly captures the small, insignificant moments that make up this thing called life. This is the movie I wish I would make if I was ever given a chance to make a movie."
72 50% The Road (2009) - Rated 27 Jan 2015
"Beautiful cinematography and set pieces about a post-apocalyptic world where cynicism about the fragility of human society takes center stage. I'm sure humans are one catastrophe away from relying on their most basic animal instincts, but it doesn't make for great entertainment. Not sure how many scenes of human depravity are necessary to get a point across. Viggo Mortensen did a tremendous job in a difficult role to pull off."
90 66% Before Sunset (2004) - Rated 27 Jan 2015
"There are so many ways to admire a movie. Very rare is the movie that reaches you on a personal level. For some reason this movie did it for me. Maybe its because the characters' problems and philosophies felt familiar. Maybe its because the chemistry between the actors felt like I was listening in on a private conversation between old friends. I don't know what a perfect movie is. What I do know is that this is a perfect movie for what it is about."
