Boogie Nights (1997) - Rated 25 Sep 2025
"I don't understand how BN isn't considered a dark comedy because it's absolutely hilarious. The ending is a bit maudlin for my taste but the whole film is entertaining as hell. I feel like Licorice Pizza was supposed to be its spiritual successor (minus the porn) but PTA's nauseating obsession with Alana Haim was so transparent, as opposed to BN where you have a well-rounded ensemble of characters that make the movie great."
