April Fool's Day

Starts out really competent and overall sympatico (sorry I just watched Bad Teacher the other day) and genuinely funny. Then turns into a run of the mill slasher that is still competently entertaining. Mostly because of how surprisingly good the cast is, considering its genre and era. And then ruins it with the dumbest twist ever. Not because the idea for it is bad, but because it's just so shittily executed. If you go for that kinda thing you need to cover all your plotholes. I'm sorry but that's just how it is. Otherwise it will suck. Now, this movie doesn't suck. But the ending does. Turning an otherwise cool movie you really enjoy liking into a forgettable nothingburger. Which is quite the accomplishment considering it's a movie that tries its hardest to be the complete opposite.
