One of Kevin Smith's funniest and most irreverent films, without a doubt. It has everything: rhythm, absurd but endearing characters, brilliant dialogue and a script that, although it goes off on tangents, knows perfectly well where it is aiming. And it also dares to touch on religious themes with humor, but also with brains.

It's a rowdy comedy, yes, but beneath the chaos there is a story that isn't as silly as it may seem. There are bold ideas, lines worth framing and a cast that has a great time (and you can tell). That whole universe so much his own, so comic-book and at the same time so barroom-conversation, is very well measured... although I admit that this time a few minutes are too many.

And to be honest, it felt a bit long to me. At times the pace drops and there are scenes that could have been condensed without losing anything. I love Kevin Smith, and other films of his have flown by for me, but this one has stretches that weigh a bit more than they should.

All in all, it is still a bold, entertaining and very witty film. One of those that aren't made every day, and that makes you think (and laugh) at the same time.
