Liam Neeson stars in this action-packed thriller filled with moral dilemmas, where his solid and distinctive presence carries much of the weight of the plot. Joined by Guy Pearce, who always brings a sober elegance to his roles, the film aims to go beyond the typical tale of personal justice to delve into themes of corruption and ethical questioning.
The direction maintains a smooth, albeit somewhat conventional, pace, with competent action sequences that lack truly memorable moments. The supporting characters serve their purpose, though some could have been developed more deeply.
The story shines more for the charisma of its cast than for its script, which occasionally relies on predictable solutions and genre clichés. Even so, the film manages to hold the audience's interest from start to finish.
All in all, an entertaining thriller that, while not groundbreaking, delivers for those who enjoy the performances of Neeson and Pearce.
