Consider: a protagonist named Macreedy (so, different spelling here) – stuck in a very remote, isolated location containing just a few men (albeit one woman here), where trust is very hard to come by – travels to another location (Adobe Flat, rather than a Norwegian base), now ruined and abandoned, because it was the site of the arrival of an alien whose fate he needs to understand. Coincidence? Probably, but perhaps not completely. Well-made in all respects, particularly the writing. Rewatching this in 2026, for the first time in decades, the most shocking thing is to realise that, today, I am one year older than Spencer Tracy was when he appeared in this movie.
