The most imaginative and amusing of these films. By the way, my father told a story that, when he was young, I guess it would have been somewhere around 1940, he went canoeing with some friends, which he’d never done before, at some local river, and at a certain point he started to feel uneasy, like they were picking up speed. His friends told him it was nothing, he left it for a bit, but still felt uneasy, said it again, was mocked, but insisted that they get to the riverbank, which was difficult, and by that time other canoes were going past them at a rapid rate. He really had to force his companions to do what he said, from the sound of it. Anyway, some kind of problem had happened upstream, and quite a few people ended up getting carried over a waterfall or rocks or a weir or something, in any case, to their deaths. He was very shaken for several days, and the impression I had was that it had really taught him about the necessity of trusting one’s own feelings, making one’s own decisions and having the courage to fight against group psychology.
Mini Review: The most imaginative and amusing of these films.
