Hellbound: Hellraiser II

Although the visual effects were not as good here as it was in the first, this movie seems to be better in every other way. We actually have plot?! Characters?! Lore?! Like I don't understand why people like the 1st one better... You look past the "bad special effects" in the finale and this movie could actually be a masterpiece! 9/10

The adventure continues!!!
I actually sort of love this movie. It takes everything that was good in the first movie and expands on it, all while having better pacing and a stronger plot. The practical effects are astounding for 1988 and feature some of the grossest, gnarliest gore I've ever seen. This time, we get two amazing final girls who survive in one of the most inhospitable places in cinema.
There's a wacky new villain who's both disgusting and entertaining to watch. I really enjoyed how this expands on the lore of the Hellraiser franchise, and I'm really excited to watch the other movies. I'm not too sure why I didn't continue this series before.
