Seoul Station
Train to Busan is one of my favorite zombie movies of all time. This is a prequel to that film follows the trend of making zombies scary and having badass characters that sacrifice themselves for others, but... unfortunately, this is not a good movie. There's quite a lot to like in this but the animation is not one of them. I hate how this looks like a cartoon when a lot of other animated shows have proven to be quite brutal. I know this is normal in a lot of horror movies, but everyone in this was dumb! I know most people would probably freeze, but even after all the zombies were reveals as zombies, I feel like there would be a lot smart choices then what these characters made!
But, I am still split on this because I still like a lot from this. The characters, while dumb, are actually quite charming and I felt bad when any of them died. There's a lot of humanity on display in this and I think this works best as a drama, and not as a horror. Give this a watch if the Train to Busan franchise interests you.
Oh, also, I just need to go to bat for this film as the top review on Letterboxd said this could have been prevented if people knew how to close doors. That is FALSE!!! At no point was a single zombie contained and by the time people started opening doors, there were hundreds of zombies in the streets. In fact, the outbreak started on the streets! Anyways, I still kind of like this movie even though it's a bit of a toss up!
