Seoul Station

hmm. hhhmmmmm. Love Train to Busan a lot so had high hopes for this. It's a fairly generic zombie narrative up until the last 20 minutes. Is it worth the wait? Probably not. With that said though, the animation is really nice to look at and the character motives are interesting. My main problem with the film is that the lead female role is a pretty outdated sexist archetype. She is constantly barely surviving and always needing help from the men around her (damsel in distress vibe). Without spoiling anything, I also do not think her arc is properly wrapped up either. Also, the social commentary is pretty on the nose throughout and does not follow TTB in it's subtle approach to Korea's seemingly corrupt class system. Fairly standard but an enjoyable film.
