Taxi Driver

I think this movie might have been overhyped for me... Oh, also, this has nothing to do with Joker besides taking place in a city and having Robert De Niro in it. To be honest, I really don't get the hype, as it just seems like an average movie that's quite boring until the ending. None of the characters really did it for me, but Robert De Niro was great and Jodie Foster is absolutely amazing in this, especially for one of her earlier roles. I didn't really feel the themes of loneliness, isolation, violence, or urban life, and nothing seemed to be going on for most of this movie. Maybe it's because I've seen so many movies influenced by this, but a lot of what was probably shocking or groundbreaking at the time just didn't have much of an impact on me. It's weird, but I almost felt like I was watching a movie where I knew everything from spoilers, even though I never knew the specifics. I liked the ending, though, and this just feels kind of like a hollow movie to me. Oh well, I will have to give this another shot in a year or two, and I might get it.
