The Patriot
Happy July 4th for those celebrating!
I decided to finally watch The Patriot!
It was a long time coming, and I can't believe how long it took. This honestly blew me away right from the start. To be completely honest, I don't even know what to cover. The Patriot feels like a movie that needs to be watched multiple times to fully appreciate.
Roland Emmerich certainly made something great here, and it's no surprise it's his highest regarded film alongside Independence Day. What a grand epic, I wish I watched it sooner.
Rapid fire comments!
The acting was all great.
The villain was goofy but still terrifying.
How did I not know Heath Ledger was in this?!
Romance does not belong in any movie besides The Apartment!
Historical accuracy does not matter if the movie is good and entertaining.
There's a weapon exchange in this movie that made me laugh my ass off!
Freedom, no notes.
That's pretty much it. There's too much swirling in my head, and I watched this way later than I was expecting. I enjoyed this quite a lot and will probably watch it again next year if I can. I might have to split it up though because this was way too long for its own good. I loved the costumes, the sets, the action, the acting, the characters, how this was shot and a lot of the effects. Anyway, I hope you are all having a great day wherever you are! I don't know what I am doing for the 4th, but at the very least I will be enjoying some fireworks!
