The Silence of the Lambs
I finally decided to sit down and watch this legendary movie! I am sure everything has been said about this movie but these are the stand-outs to me. I absolutely love the set up and execution of meeting Hannibal Lector for the first time. In fact, every scene with Anthony Hopkins is amazing. Clarice is a great main character and I am glad I finally know why it's called The Silence of the Lambs! My only real issue is with what I feel is a contrivance before the final act. It's pretty small and only affects a small part of the movie though. All things considered, I loved this one and the ending is one of the most tense scenes in all of cinema. I am planning on watching the other movies and the TV show! I am wondering if I will like this movie even more on a second watch!
Mini Review: Finally watched this movie! Everything’s been said, but for me, the standout is the brilliant setup and execution of Hannibal Lecter’s first meeting. Every scene with Anthony Hopkins is amazing. Clarice is a strong lead, and I now understand why it’s called The Silence of the Lambs. My only issue is a minor contrivance before the final act. Overall, I loved it—the ending is one of cinema’s most tense scenes. I plan to watch the sequels and TV show, hoping to enjoy it even more on a second watch!
