Thelma & Louise
Sigh... This was honestly painful to watch. Let me give some context just so you can get where I am coming from.
I LOATHE country music. I hate it so much, you have no idea, that any country music in a movie will automatically remove a star unless it's under a few seconds and I can tune it out. I hate that weird Southern American culture, and it's just too dusty, and the accents are grating to me. I know it's weird, but I was going insane in this movie, and it's the same reason why I dislike a lot of other movies that are well regarded. I hope you can understand and forgive me for the rating I give this movie. This is a personal rating and does not reflect the quality of this movie.
Besides that, I think the acting is fine, and I love the actual production of this, but I just hate the characters and found this to be quite boring. There's some excitement with the base premise, but as I said earlier, I just can't stand anything from this movie... Brad Pitt was certainly the highlight, with Geena Davis coming a close second. Susan Sarandon is usually great, but I just didn't feel her or the rest of the actors for the most part.
For the rest of the movie, I just felt it was generally contrived, but I think it works well for the plot. I am probably just salty with how much country and how many country vibes are in this. I AM A CITY BOY FOR A REASON!!! Wait... Or am I a suburbs boy... Okay, well, I am certainly nowhere near the country, and I don't want to be!
Oh yeah.... one last thing, but it's kind of hard not to be spoiled by the end of this movie. Yeah, I know about this ending ever since I learned I hated country stuff when I went to a farm and learned how bad the country smells when I was like 7 years old... Yeah, this film reminds me of horse shit, and that ending has to be one of the worst things I have ever seen. Oh well, this will be going on my "another chance list," but I might have to wait forever before getting this weird country taste out of my mouth... Shudders

Mini Review: Sigh... This was honestly painful to watch. Context: I LOATHE country music. Any country song in a movie automatically loses a star unless it's only a few seconds. The dusty Southern vibes and accents drove me insane. I know this is a personal bias, but this movie hit every dislike I have. The acting and production are good, with Brad Pitt being the highlight and Geena Davis close behind. However, I found the characters boring and the story contrived. I AM A CITY BOY FOR A REASON!!!
