Nobody 2

If life immitates art then marital life will only ever be a bleak prison for man to which he must escape by whatever gets him close enough to risk it all without actually losing it all. Unless, of course, his wife died tragically- only then could married life have been perfection for him. She dies a martyr to the idea of what that love could (but never would) have been. That is the dichotomy between Nobody and John Wick. Maybe I simply shouldn't have watched this right after True Detective. I suppose I'll go inject Addams Family Values into my veins as a palate cleanser since this trope runs through most every other piece of media. This movie made me annoyed enough to write my longest review thus far.
