Cult of Chucky

Feels more like a SAW-style torture porn script dusted off with Chucky inserted as villain (and now capable of body-hopping ala JASON GOES TO HELL?) It all makes for a pretty unpleasant film, though it’s skilfully made and well-performed as far as genre requirements go, and I like the fact that Tilly is now almost the Lin Shaye of these films, bringing a smile of affection whenever she is on-screen. If you’ve enjoyed past entries, you’ll likely get dutiful fun from this, but I feel like the character is finally ready to be put out to pasture.
