Melody Time
Almost feels like an attempt to recapture the magic of FANTASIA in a more broad key, but this shorts compilation lacks an overall sense of cohesion, and with no unifying thread to tie the stories together, each short must live or die on its own merits, and unfortunately none really rise above mediocre (the flight of the bumblebee is arguably the highlight). Finale convincingly incorporating Rogers and Trigger into the animated world could have been fun, had the material not leaned into such eye-rolling cornball, though “Johnny Appleseed” gives it a solid run for its money!
