Like if Clint Eastwood had ever been cast as MAD MAX… with Nazis! Just an excuse for some fun and silly splatter action, but elevated by the courage of its convictions, epitomised by Tommilla’s stoic, intimidating and ultimately indestructible killing machine. Pulled off with verve by Helander, who knows just the right number of expository nuggets to drop to avoid confusion, while never killing the pace. Some might argue there’s nothing especially original about all of this, but sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel!
