Passable though somewhat bland bit of debris in the post-SCREAM wash-up makes an error by centring too much of the film on Witt, who looks ill-at-ease and desperate to escape, and not in a way that would help the movie build tension! We are teased with various other actors (Jackson, Reid, Wagner, hell even Leto) who would be much more fun to spend some time with, only to have them almost dispatched off-screen! Film misses a great opportunity with Englund, who outside of a few chuckles and side-eyes, never gets anything much to do; ultimate resolution feels pretty cheap and arbitrary, even by the genre’s low-standards.
