I’m a big fan of Gasper Noé’s stuff. Climax is a gem and Enter the Void really got me into a new side of cinema as a kid. If his filmography so far is a come up, this feels like an intense comedown. So so bleak. With exceptions to the split screen cinematography, it feels like he’s let go of the flashy stylistic stuff he’s kind of known for. And instead of showing horror through crazy visuals he’s now just doing it through the horrific concept of someone you love getting dementia and forgetting who you are. What a nightmare.  This was an intense watch for me as my grandma has pretty severe dementia so some bits hit close to the bone. But it is very slow. Intentionally slow. And whilst I feel like that works in the first half, once you get to the final act and it maintains that pace, it becomes a bit tiresome imo.
