Cape Fear

Holy crap, the gratuitous and cavalier camera movement in the final sequence really solidified this movie for me. Solid thriller that builds up to a final crescendo so well. This whole movie got me so nervous, all while having some truly goofy moments and dialogue (well, excuse me all over the place). Robert De Niro in absolutely unhinged roles, A+. Random Thoughts - Scorsese loves a good sunglasses shot. The beautiful shot of Max driving away after chatting with Sam about "compensation" reminded me of the close-up of Ace's sunglasses watching Nicky drive out to meet him in the desert in Casino. - Leigh's indoor garden home office is an absolute dream. - What can we call that Jim Beam and pepto bismol cocktail? A boilertaker? Gumshoe ointment? Pink mist? A gut shot? Wild and hilarious pairing.
