Mr. Scorsese you have made this movie before. It’s called taxi driver. However, this is a darker look at New York or perhaps life. Health care workers have it rough. This looks at life and how people go about the corruption. One is just waiting it out hoping for a better a day. One has takes to religion. One is corrupted himself. The main character lets it all sink in. He feels guilty and he thinks he should do something about it. He can’t quit. Which one is you? Scorsese always brings in religion and questions the faith of characters. Perhaps a projection of his own thoughts and doubts. Movie is well crafted but it’s so dark and in its essence empty that it doesn’t make a good watch. Not my taste but I can appreciate the awareness it raises for the mental state of health workers and the themes it discusses.
