Green Book

Great movie. It showcases the power of a well-crafted, simple script and strong storytelling. The struggles of racism are portrayed naturally, allowing you to follow the characters’ journey without feeling that it’s forced. The film achieves a beautiful simplicity, with outstanding performances from both the main and supporting actors. One drawback was the inconsistency in Tony’s views on race. At one point, he discards cups used by Black workers, yet almost immediately is willing to work as a chauffeur for a Black client. While this can be attributed to his need for money and his attempt to mask his prejudice, I expected more internal conflict or resistance from him, which could have deepened his character development. Despite that, I really enjoyed this one and might watch it again.
