Lord of War

This movie should be talked about more often. Beautiful and powerful commentary on modern warfare and who truly profits from them. What I like about it is that it isn’t a plain sad documentary style movie. It’s entertaining at points funny and a real movie. We are as the audience conflicted. We like his lifestyle and that he’s making money but at the same time we see a random guy being shot, kids with their limbs chopped off, and women being murdered. He lies to himself as we do to justify our actions. Sure the money is nice but why he does is because as he says “I’m good at it”. Perhaps inspiring Walter White’s last confession in Breaking Bad. He is not human at the end yet still does what he does best. Very good screenplay. The dialogue is good. Captivating scenes one  after another. After the Cold War, governments and freelancers profited from civil wars or wars between countries in Africa and Middle East. Countries people don’t care about. Now we see this more and more. Most conflicts are caused by these governments all for money. This is what movies that want to send a message should do. Make a great entertaining movie with its own story and character and then promote their stance. Well done.
