Manchester by the Sea

I had high expectations for this film, but it ultimately felt hollow, as though it was created solely to win Oscars. “There is nothing there” perfectly captures the essence of the movie. While the performances were excellent, they alone weren’t enough to elevate the experience. The film mirrors the main character’s emotional state—empty, directionless, and trudging along until it abruptly ends. It was a difficult watch, with a pacing that dragged to the point of being the slowest burn imaginable. To top it off, the score was jarring and detracted from the overall experience.
