The Seventh Seal
The theatrical nature of it makes it impossible for me to watch without skipping it. However, the dialogue and the themes explored are very imported and worth discussing. They question death, faith, and purpose. I don’t think it was common for movies in the 50s to be questioning these matters on the big screen. The imagery used and the dynamic between the main character and death was very well written and captivating. I recommend watching those scenes only and just admire the cinematography. Again the dialogues are very well written and the movie is well made, however, in the 21st century this movie does not hold up for me.
