Tenshi no harawata: Nami

Yes, this is an exploitation film and yes this is supposed to make the viewer uncomfortable, which it did at least in my case. The redeeming quality of this film if it has one is the fact that what happens to the women in the story is not dealt with lightly and it never makes the depravity seem like anything else than what it is, a terribly traumatic and horrible event that no one should ever experience. Another point that this film makes is the depth that reporters will stoop to get a "good" scoop or story and how depraved the general public can be as they seek out these sordid stories and subject matter. There are good performances here by most of the cast, a few oddly artistic scenes, and some interesting camerawork as well.
