One of Plane's biggest strengths is its efficiency. The crash happens early, the threat is established quickly, and the story maintains a clear objective from beginning to end. In an era of increasingly bloated action movies, it's refreshing to see a thriller that knows exactly what it wants to be and gets there without unnecessary detours.

Gerard Butler is right in his comfort zone here. He plays Brodie Torrance as a capable professional rather than an invincible action hero, which helps the movie feel more grounded and believable. Mike Colter provides strong support as Louis Gaspare, and the partnership that develops between the two men becomes one of the film's most enjoyable elements.

Director Jean-François Richet keeps the tension moving, and the action remains easy to follow. While the film is more grounded than many modern action thrillers, it still relies on a few unlikely coincidences and convenient timing. Even so, Plane delivers exactly what it promises: a straightforward, entertaining survival-action thriller.
