It's a dishonest movie. On the surface it's artistic, realistic and brute. But actually, it's formulatic, expected and cheesy.

It's in its deep self kinda about catholic, industrial western is corrupt, protestant version of it is a bit more tolerable. Jewish version could be the best, but fascists of the west aint let it happen sadly.
The west damn to rot, Jerusalem is the home of safety from this that. Israel is the truth.

If you just think; all the long dialogs of the movie about Jerusalem is home and Europe is lost and America is corrupt.

The movie tries to be brutal but it's spoiled imo.

Yes, this movie intended to be disturbing that's why "The Brutalist" is the name of it. It comes from the architectural and artistic branch of certain aesthetics. But again, brutalism w/o direct & honest cause is just a forced vision of a spoiled mind.

And this movie and its story ain't got one. No cause, no clarity. It's just another WW2 trauma-related Jewish chauvinism movie, that puts a lot of grotesque visions and 18+ content under the rug called "Brutalism".

Cheesy and easy. But in terms of screenplay, cinematography and acting, I think it was fine, even tho it's a tough movie to endure, cuz it's a long one and gets darker thru the finale and yet I didnt get bored that much. Once chauvinism starts, it becomes obvious and boring for sure but it was still riveting.
