Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Ok, I admit the rating I give this probably is worse than what it objectively deserves, but it's also the level of my enjoyment rounded up. I liked I Saw TV Glow, though it very much felt to me like it was a lynchian movie made by someone who doesn't quite get what makes Lynch good.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma brought it to a whole new level and mixed in a lot of what some might call a deconstruction of the slasher genre but what I see as cheap parody. Some of the scenes felt like flat out sketches from a sketch show. It's a very heavy handed film but also mixes in that surrealism that - again - feels like it's trying to do lynch but feels compelled to explain what the meaning of everything is. I can understand that this element could work very well for someone that can identify with the themes the movie is covering, but for me it felt like the director really isn't even interested to make their movies work for audiences outside of a very specific group of people. In my case, they were very successful.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is good because the meta-slasher premise gives it a strong identity. A filmmaker trying to reboot a slasher franchise while becoming obsesse...
