All the President's Men

Very very behind on reviewing films but going to try and start from the beginning... Although it starts slow, AtPM is an excellent film that builds up to a gripping climax. It's a shame that it basically ends halfway through the story - no doubt that, together with a Part II, it would have been one of the ultimate behemoths of the '70s. One can see why they chose Redford to appear in the Winter Soldier Marvel movie all those decades later - the Washington political thriller began here. Hoffman's character is especially successful with the ladies here, which is quite funny once one realises that the film is heavily based on a script written by the very guy Hoffman plays! I think that they played a few liberties with the facts on this one (sensationalising it a bit), but it's still pretty legit. Someone else in the comments on here made a point about how the tech here is "both modern and antiquated", which definitely stood out to me too - this film feels like 1990 and 1960 at the same time. And, finally, pretty cool how they got the Watergate security guard to play himself!
