Another nominations-trap. It's designed to get accolades. The script got auctioned in a circle-jerk and turned into the usual clap-trap for their own audience. Final steps: hype it as the next grand film and hire the affiliate up-voters to pretend that real consumers rated this movie favorably.
The movie is slow and devoid of suspense. Absolutely nothing happens in the first half of the movie. Only then it slowly builds up towards a story - but as I mentioned, without suspense. It's just a story unfolding. You won't get real answers, there's a bit of dark humor here and there. Ending finalizes it but whatever. That's how you're left behind.

What a weird-ass movie lol.
It's not suspenseful, but it kept me engaged, interested and captivated all throughout. I didn't like Barbarian, but this really worked for me. ...
