Suspicion

I know the ending got butchered by the Hays Code, but I I honestly don't think the ending is as bad as some of the reviews say. Johnnie has been shown to be a massive liar, what if he's really just lying once again about his intentions and the ending scene is us seeing Lina walk away with the man that still plans to murder her for her fortune?
I think I still would have preferred some of the other planned endings, but I think Hitchcock worked well with what he had.
