A Família do Barulho
of all the bressane works i've seen -- not that many --, this is perhaps his wildest in terms of editing and cinematic language. the amalgamation of silent films' trademarks and brazilian chanchadas create some truly powerful moments, specially through oversaturated lights, repeated shots/different takes of the same scene and his usual share of both abrasive and funny weirdness -- dude trying to find oil with a kitchen knife, kids smoking, ignez asking gay men combing each other's hair if they are employing a coup d'état. fade to black, sound of toilet flush, fim.
