sincerely don't understand all the hate. kind of mid-budget sci-fi actioner we should be getting more often. terrific cast -- king sam! --, some jokes land here and there -- bautista telling himself not to get aroused after seeing kurylenko kill off a bunch of thugs -- and at least one very good set piece -- escape from the church, a tank randomly exploding bikers and cars but of course not our heroes' vehicle. better well-imagined than most expensive tentpoles. it eventually struggles in the second half and can't quite deliver a proper climax.
