as much as the meta material feels truly engaging -- and almodóvar makes pretty damn sure of that in the final minutes --, i prefer elsa's story and the little moments she's just there for the women in her life -- her mom in the morning she died, a friend who's also struggling with grief, another one who can't end her toxic relationship. not one of his major works, for sure, but an engrossing little film on the various kinds of pain and sorrow and the both unique and universal ways we cope -- totally relate to both leading characters, but not because i'm an artist; started writing rambling thoughts during pandemic and since then i cannot just not do it whenever i'm feeling like shit (mostly everyday).
