evil kinda does not exist or: tableaux of decay. this is gotta be one of the wildest combinations of bleakness and weirdness ever put on celluloid. goofy cgi, lively original score, some unexpected slapstick bits, accumulation of human acts of brutal violence vs natural cycles of life and death -- but mostly death, of course, as we all know everything is always dying, one way or another --, individual and collective action both clashing and combining. shoegaze cinema at its most afflictive. doom as desolation.
