Deep End

Yet another 70s stunner I'll need to come back to in the future. Unbelievably provocative and relentless study on desire through such a poignant and magnetic coming of age story, mixing fantasy bits and kinetic camerawork to depict a sexual turmoil taking over a kid who's losing his grip on 'reality' over emotions he can't quite understand or control -- he only experiences them and hopes things will be ok and he'll not collapse. Two scenes seem the epitome of the film's unhinged journey: lady harassing kid while describing a couple of goals scored by Georgie Best and the entire bizarre and kinda dreamy theater sequence.
